We are a group of anthropologists, historians and sociologists at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore, and the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute, who are interested in the intellectual history of Singapore. Keenly aware that we know less about our own intellectual ancestries compared to Euro-American lineages, we have formed a reading group to read the writings, words and imaginations of our own thinkers. We share our thoughts and discussions here. Your comments are most welcome. Members: Chen Beiqi, Daniel Goh, Darinee Alagirisamy, Noorman Abdullah, Nurfadzilah Yahaya, Terence Chong, Vineeta Sinha. For queries, please contact Daniel at dsong@nus.edu.sg. <Profile image: Wayang Kulit by Choo Keng Kwang, 1950, National Gallery Singapore>
